If you have replaced the existing router/gateway, then you will certainly need to reconfigure the range extender. There are two ways to reconfigure it. One is via WPS connection and another via Web GUI.
WPS method
- If the router supports WPS, then press the WPS button for at least 5 seconds from the back of your hardware. You will find the indicator light starts blinking.
- Within 1 minute, press the WPS button from the range extender until you find the WPS indicator blinking on it.
- Check the link LED on your extender for the router.
- If the LED is ON, then it means the extender is successfully connected.
- If it is OFF, then no connection is established so far.
- If both the devices support the 5 GHz band, then repeat the above-mentioned steps again to connect to this frequency band.
- Place the extender to the desired location or midway between the router and the area having a poor signal.
Web GUI Method
- Reset the extender first by pressing the black button given just inside the main panel.
- After the rebooting gets completed, connect the device to the default SSID of the extender.
- Launch the browser and you will find the mywifiext net page automatically appears. If not, enter the IP address manually in the address space.
- Tap ‘New extender setup’.
- Tap on ‘New account’ and start entering the data in the field.
- Tap ‘Next’.
- You will find the available SSID list on the screen.
- Select the router/gateway network and press ‘Next’.
- Enter the passkey for www mywifiext net login.
- Select SSID and password for the new extender network and press ‘Next’.
- Start connecting the wireless devices to the new extender using the newly created SSID and password.
- Tap ‘Continue’ to finish the setup.
- You need to register the product on the next page. If this step is already done, then click on ‘Skip registration’.
- Move the extender to the place wherever required in order to enhance the signal strength in poor network areas.
